Synopsis:
Amélie is not a girl like the others. She saw her goldfish disappear before her eyes in a municipal pond, her mother died in front of Notre-Dame and her father transferred all his affection to a garden. Amélie grows up and becomes a waitress in Montmartre in a bar run by a former equestrian dancer Amélie’s life is simple, she likes to snack on crème brûlées, do ricochets along the banks of the Seine, observe people and let her imagination wander.
At twenty-two, Amélie discovers a goal: to repair the lives of others. She then invents all kinds of stratagems to intervene incognito in the existence of several people around her. Among them, there is the concierge who spends her days sipping port alone with a stuffed dog, Georgette, the hypochondriac tobacconist, or the “glass man”, her neighbor who only lives through a reproduction of Renoir.
